Nick Comerci

Nick retired in 2022 from a 30+ year career with the Natural Resources Conservation Service serving as a Soil Conservationist in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the North Country of New Hampshire.  

 

His work involved planning, designing, and implementing conservation practices for farmers and forest landowners to protect water quality and improve soil health for a productive and resilient landscape.  He earned his Animal Science degree from Delaware Valley University of Science and Agriculture and a Master of Ag Education from Rutgers University.  Prior to federal service he worked on a number of diversified dairy and vegetable farms in the Northeast, conventional and organic.  His part time work with the Hub is to assist the Climate Change Mitigation Outreach and Education (CCMOE) coordinator in navigating and understanding the NRCS mission and structure. His retirement also involves keeping a 75-acre homestead running with gardening, firewood, and a recent high tunnel greenhouse.
