Jorge works as an extension educator for the West Virginia State Extension Service, bringing together graduate students across the Northeast.
Jorge began working with WV Extension Service, helping farmers improve their post-harvest practices. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Marshall University. He found his passion in urban forestry and is working on his Master’s in Biological science, researching how urban trees reduce the risk of flooding by delaying precipitation. He hopes to continue to help his community in WV by improving the urban canopy and providing everyone with access to green spaces. In his spare time, he enjoys trail running and spending time in his garden.
