Jean L. Steiner

Jean Steiner earned her MS and PhD in Agronomy (Agroclimatology) at Kansas State University and her BA in Geology at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA.  She is an Adjunct Professor at Kansas State University and serves on the Kansas Water Authority. She spent the bulk of her career as a researcher with USDA-Agricultural Research Service, most recently as Director of the Grazinglands Research Laboratory in El Reno, Oklahoma.  Her professional interests have spanned irrigated and rainfed cropping, crop residue management, evapotranspiration, watershed management, and integrated agroecosystems research. She currently focuses on water resources and climate impacts in agroecosystems and serves as the Senior Research Partnerships Coordinator as part of the KSU’s Kansas Water Institute and Kansas Center for Agriculture and the Environment.
