Michael Gavazzi is the coordinator for the USDA Southeast Climate Hub and natural resource specialist for the USDA Forest Service Eastern Threat Center. Michael has a master's degree in forestry from Virginia Tech. His past research has focused on assessing the effectiveness of prescribed burning on fuel loads and quantifying carbon, water, and energy budgets in loblolly pine plantations. As coordinator for the SE Hub, Michael’s work focuses on delivering climate-related outreach, tools, and information to landowners, natural resource managers, and technical service providers to help inform decision-making and improve the resilience and productivity of their working lands.
