Sara Wall

As an ORISE Post-fire Research Fellow, Sara supports the work of the Oregon Post-fire Research and Monitoring Collaborative. She also conducts research into how wildfire is impacting aquatic habitat in the Oregon and Washington with the Aquatic Riparian Effectiveness Monitoring Program. With this position, Sara co-led the 2023 Oregon Post-fire Research and Monitoring Symposium and compiled the Oregon Post-fire Research and Monitoring Catalog, which identifies where data is being collected across the state to increase collaboration across groups and disciplines. Prior to her role as an ORISE Fellow, Sara received her Master of Science Degree in Watershed Sciences from Utah State University, where she researched post-fire debris flows in the Intermountain West. Her thesis has contributed to work informing which drinking water reservoirs across the state of Utah are most vulnerable to post-fire erosion. Sara is particularly interested in post-fire geomorphic processes and how those processes impact downstream water resources.
