Corinn Rutkoski is a Climate Hub Fellow working to make climate science more accessible to USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) staff and the land managers they serve. Corinn is developing training programs for NRCS staff centered on i) climate change effects on Northwest working lands and ii) climate-smart agriculture and forestry practices that can mitigate future climate change. Prior to joining the Northwest Climate Hub, Corinn completed her PhD in Biology at Michigan State University's Kellogg Biological Station. There, she researched tallgrass prairie plantings on Midwest farms (Prairie Strips), investigating their impact on soil carbon, soil microbes, and pesticide persistence. Corinn also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Loyola University Chicago.
