Averi joined the USDA Northern Plains Climate Hub in August 2023 as an ORISE Fellow in Casper, WY, with expertise in Science Communication & Outreach. She started her career with the USDA in 2016 as a summer intern at the Agriculture Research Service’s High Plains Grasslands Research Station in Cheyenne, WY for the Rangelands Resources & Systems Research Unit. Averi received a Bachelor of Science in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management, and a Master of Science in Animal Science from the University of Wyoming with a thesis completed at the Central Plains Experimental Range. She also served as an editor of a Wyoming-based agricultural newspaper, where she enjoyed connecting with producers, sharing management practices, and showcasing producer success. Raised in central Wyoming, Averi is passionate about serving agricultural operators and promoting educational opportunities for natural resource conservation through sustainable agricultural practices.
