Grace Kirchner

Grace is an ORISE fellow with the USDA Northern Forests Climate Hub Fellow located with the Ohio State University.

Grace works closely with teams from the USDA Northern Forests Climate Hub, Ohio State University, and the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science to transform static climate change vulnerability assessments into an interactive, user-focused format through the integration of geospatial data and stakeholder needs. Her work will focus mostly on Northeastern and Midwestern forest ecosystems.

Grace received her MS in Natural Resource Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her BS in Meteorology from Western Kentucky University, where she focused on drought and its impacts on agriculture, grasslands, and other natural resources. For her master’s thesis, she used multiple streams of geospatial data to develop a drought index for the state of Alaska. Outside of work, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and playing video games.
