Dr. Tayler Schillerberg joined the USDA Midwest Climate Hub in June 2024 as an Agroclimatology Fellow, after completing an interdisciplinary PhD program in Earth System Science and a MS in Crop, Soils, and Environmental Science at Auburn University. In her graduate work, Tayler used a combination of big data, machine learning and statistical methods to explore global trends of agroclimate indicators and crop failure as well as the risk to agriculture and other built systems to compound events in a changing climate. Building off these themes, her areas of research interest continue to include the intersection of big data and machine learning with agriculture risk, weather extremes, climate, and food security. Prior to graduate school Tayler earned a BS in Meteorology from Iowa State University. In her free time, Tayler enjoys devouring books, crafting, spending time outdoors running and cycling.
