Dr. Roesch-McNally has a M.S. from the University of Washington School of Environmental and Forestry Science, where she focused on environmental economics. Her PhD, from Iowa State University, is in Sociology and Sustainable Agriculture. As part of her dissertation research, she worked as one of the lead social scientists on a large-scale interdisciplinary USDA-NIFA project. As Fellow with the Northwest Climate Hub, Gabrielle conducts social science research efforts to better understand producer decision making in the context of climate change adaptation and mitigation. She has expertise in social science theory with a grounding in both economics and sociology and has worked with large interdisciplinary teams. She has particular interest in participatory research methods and coproduction and how these approaches can support collaborative community engagement with climate adaptation.
Dr. Roesch-McNally received a Ph.D. in Sociology and Sustainable Agriculture from Iowa State University in 2016 and an M.S. in Forestry from University of Washington in 2011. Dr. Roesch-McNally joined the USDA Northwest Climate Hub in 2016.
