Dipti joined the USDA California Climate Hub in September 2024 as a Graduate Student Researcher.
Dipti, hailing from a farming family in Nepal, has long nurtured a deep passion for agriculture. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the Agriculture and Forestry University in Nepal. Her professional journey includes two years with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), an international intergovernmental organization, where she contributed to a project aimed at enhancing climate resilience among farmers in Madhesh Province—Nepal's most climate-vulnerable region.
During her time at GGGI, Dipti gained hands-on experience working with local governments to manage agricultural risks through better access and utilization of climate data and weather information. She was involved in developing climate-smart agricultural strategies for local governments and supported agribusinesses in accessing and utilizing the GGGI’s Challenge Fund grants to expand their business and products for improved climate resilience.
Currently, as a Graduate Student Researcher at the USDA California Climate Hub, Dipti aims to leverage her background to conduct research on the impacts of climate change on agriculture. Her goal is to support informed decision-making and develop effective solutions to address the challenges posed by climate change.
